Los Angeles International Airport, perhaps best known as LAX, is located on the southern coast of California in southwestern Los Angeles. LAX is one of the busiest airports in the world serving over 60 million passengers annually.
This Los Angeles airport is a hub for both United Airlines and Alaska Airlines. American Airlines and Southwestern Airlines also have a prominent presence at the airport. LAX has connecting flights to 87 domestic and 69 international destinations in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.
The airport has nine passenger terminals that are connected by a U-shaped two level roadway. The terminals are served by a shuttle bus for the convenience of passengers. The upper departure area has curb-side baggage check-in and baggage claim can be found on the lower level. A variety of restaurants, lounges, and shops, including duty-free stores are also available for passengers awaiting flights. Encounter Restaurant with its contemporary space age design and lighting is located at the top of the historic Theme Building at LAX. The restaurant, with an observation deck on top, is sure to impress. There are also a number of hotels conveniently located on airport grounds.
